Little Blessings

This is Alex, my nephew. He is living proof of why it is that God loves children so much. Just being in the presence of little kids lifts me up so much that I can almost instantaneously forget my problems. They're beaming smiles, glowing eyes, and curious minds just astound me.

A while ago I was up at Cheryl's house and Alex and I were sitting on the couch talking. It is amazing to me how much a 4-year-old truly understands and comprehends about the world. I just don't think we give children enough credit. They may not have the faculties necessary for expression completely at their disposal but they can see so much more than we sometimes can. Kids are just so great. If we only payed more attention we could learn so much from them.

For each of us there are different lessons we need to learn. I will continue to work on my faults as they are many. I would say to anyone that is not yet perfect, take a moment to look at the world around you and really try to appreciate something. For me it's children, for you it may be something else, but don't end the day without at least taking a peek back into the world and life of a child.

What about about when they throw up and hit you and stuff?

I like kids and all, but if we're talking about taking a step back and thinking about what we're grateful for, birth control would have to be up there. Seriously, I think we're so lucky to live in an age when we can make that kind of decision. A world where all children are wanted. How nice would that be?

Oh, they're not always perfect, but I totally love 'em. The good is so worth the bad.

Plus, that decision could always be made in the past. It just took more self-control back then.

wrd4play, birth control is not the answer to making sure that all children are wanted. All people have access to the answers of having a child or not. Knowledge and self control.
Dan, children are great, and yes, there is so much that we can learn from them. And yes, some kids don't seem so good, but remember, if they do bad, it is b/c that is what they were taught (in one way or another).
